Womas are a unique species of python from Australia. They inhabit a harsh, dry climate, which makes them particularly easy to maintain in captivity and especially forgiving of minor husbandry errors. Relatively speaking, they do well with low humidity and a typical python temperature gradient. They are typically docile, but very inquisitive.

One feature that makes the Aspidites genus unique to the Python world is their lack of thermo sensory heat pits, which are typically found among the labial (lip) scales of pythons.  It has been said that they're only a python by classification, but they have been successfully interbred with carpet pythons and ball pythons.

I've wanted to work with Womas since the first time I got to handle one. Their soft, yet beady skin and semi triangular build make for a very interesting python to handle.

I currently have a pair of Womas, which were produced by Barry Miller.  Although this is more of a "fun project", I do have plans to expand my Woma group in the future.
