The Enigma is a new
mutation introduced in 2007, first produced by Mark & Kim Bell of Reptile
Industries. There is still much to learn about this new mutation and a lot
of combos have yet to be produced. It's tough to describe, but the Enigma
gene affects eye color, dramatizes other color genes present (intensified
tangerine for example) and it also seems to break up or fragment any black
pattern elements.
Even though it's only
been around for a couple seasons, the Enigma seems to make cool crosses with
just about every existing mutation, so it's already being touted as one of the
most promising leopard gecko mutations ever discovered.
We're essentially
working the Enigma into our three other key projects (Raptor, Snow & Tangerine)
and both the Tremper and Bell albino strains.
These are exciting times
for leopard gecko enthusiasts looking to create their own unique projects!
