Hyper Tangerine Project
The Hyper Tangerine (what I was calling Tangerine Pinstripe) project is essentially a very unique new bloodline that I'm developing, which may in fact be a new morph all together.  It started with one unique female that I acquired several years ago.  In fact, that gecko remains to this day the most unique and attractive crested gecko that I've ever laid eyes on.

I honestly think this is the most exciting crested gecko project I have going on. Similar to the C2 projects, this Tangerine coloration is different from all the other colors out there because it seems to be reside in a completely different layer of skin, including the cream colored dorsal (back) and pinstripe scales. This is what makes this coloration different than a typical red or orange crested gecko and it's this unique aspect that makes this appearance so different looking.

By breeding Stripes and a similar male to my original "tangerine" pinstripe female, I got roughly half "tangerine" colored offspring and half lavender harlequins (which now have their own group in my Black & Cream Pinstripe project).

The first Lavender x Tangerine offspring started hatching in late 2005 and this will be my third year working on this project.

I've been very careful not to burn the original female out and have always given her plenty of time with the cage to herself, so we're just now entering her third breeding season.

And yes, she looks every bit as fake in person.

Project Status
Hobbyists and fellow breeders have been hounding me for offspring almost non-stop since I announced the project in late 2006.

The reason this project has yet to be released is because I have yet to produce a male Tangerine Pinstripe.  I did produce a male Tangerine 'Phantom' Pinstripe (remember, this project shares a common relative with my Black & Cream project), so I've been using him as a male breeder until I produce a male Tangerine Pinstripe.  The result has been about half Tangerine Phantom Pinstripes and half Tangerine Pinstripes, so I should have a male for next season.  I may end up releasing a few of these geckos later this year.
